Some people dream of living in a vacation destination — we get to do it in two.
Jupiter, Florida and Costa Rica may be different in many ways, but they share the same heartbeat: nature, ocean, outdoor living, and a slower, more intentional way of life.
In Jupiter, life has a casual coastal rhythm. It’s been a wonderful place to raise our daughter after moving from New York City, a shift into a lifestyle that feels more grounded, outdoorsy, and connected but will always miss the city vibe and call that my original home.
Most days are spent at home surrounded by nature, tending to our garden and mini food forest, watching birds, and enjoying the simple rhythm of being outside. Later in the day, life often shifts toward the water - beach walks, sunsets, and time near the ocean.
Some of our favorite local spots include Guanabanas, where you can sit by the water and listen to live music, Tiki 52 for relaxed waterfront vibes, and U-Tiki for great food and sunsets. Love Street has become a go-to gathering place for dining and live music, bringing together some of the best waterfront restaurants in one walkable area.
Just a short drive away, West Palm Beach brings a different energy like art, culture, events, dining, and a vibrant downtown scene that contrasts beautifully with the slower rhythm of Jupiter.
Together, Jupiter and the surrounding South Florida area offer the best of both worlds, laid-back coastal living with access to city energy whenever you want it.
Costa Rica brings an entirely different rhythm. We chose Jaco as our home base because of its central location and easy access to the coast. It has a city-like energy while still being right on the ocea, a true jungle-on-the-beach environment where nature and everyday life blend together.
Our condo sits on a quieter street with ocean views, close enough to feel the energy but far enough to enjoy the calm. Life in Jaco flows between local sodas serving traditional Costa Rican meals and elevated dining experiences, all surrounded by beach town energy, wildlife, and adventure in every direction.
Waterfalls, surfing, national parks, sunset beach walks - everything feels close and accessible, yet still full of that raw, natural Costa Rican energy that makes the country so special.
In many ways, Jupiter and Costa Rica mirror each other - both coastal, both rooted in nature, both offering a slower and more intentional way of living in their own unique ways.
Together, they reflect a lifestyle we love most being grounded in connection, nature, and living fully wherever you are.
Costa Rica has a way of feeling like home in a way that goes beyond a vacation. It is the Pura Vida lifestyle, a slower rhythm rooted in nature, wellness, simplicity, and connection. From the Blue Zone way of living to the deep presence of the ocean, jungle, and wildlife, it naturally invites you to slow down and be more present. What stays with you most is not just the places you visit, but the feeling of connection to nature, to yourself, and to others. And in many ways, that feeling does not have to stay in Costa Rica. It is something you can bring home through how you travel, how you live, and the choices you make every day.
These places also shape how we see travel - helping others experience destinations in a way that feels real, personal, and unforgettable.
